What is a Microchip?
It is a nanotechnology product developed for the application of a process to increase the chance of pregnancy by changing the sperm selection method in IVF treatment.
This promising method for couples who cannot have a baby due to male infertility was developed by Turkish scientist Prof. Dr. Utkan Demirci at Harvard University. With the chip baby method, "good and high quality" embryos can be created and successful results can be achieved.
The function of the chip baby method is to separate the sperm that are capable of fertilizing the egg from those that are not, and to increase the chances of conception by applying in vitro fertilization treatment.
Microchip, which is generally preferred in male infertility, can also be used in the presence of infertility problems caused by different reasons. For example, if pregnancies end in miscarriage or if repeated IVF treatments have not been successful, the chip baby method can be used, thus increasing the chance of conception.
It allows a healthy baby to be brought into the world, the number of trials to be made during IVF treatment to be reduced; thus providing financial and moral gain. The difference that distinguishes the chip baby method from the classical method is that it increases the chance of pregnancy by changing the sperm selection method.
